long beach

July 12, 2015

Situated with in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Long Beach is the longest beach on Vancouver Island, stretching for over 16 km. Grey, humpback and orcas can be seen from this beach. Surfing is great year round, and during the winter months it provides a vantage point for storm watching.

Today's image has been taken with the tide out. The blue sky and wide expanse of the beach make showcases Long Beach on an idyllic day, perfect for boogie boarding, picnicking or just a leisurely walk.
